ERA, along with SGS Economics and Planning, was engaged by Central Coast Council to review and update its Local Area Settlement Strategy. The strategy will be used to inform and guide future use and development for the next 20 years, facilitate future planning scheme amendments, and will become a key tool in the review of the Cradle Coast Regional Land Use Strategy.

The process involved background data analysis, stakeholder engagement and identification of key strategic drivers. SGS undertook residential and commercial demand analysis. The strategy includes three main components: the planning principles, the settlement hierarchy, and a suite of strategies and aligned actions to achieve the planning principles. It also includes a township structure map for Ulverstone.

The project is currently before Council for final endorsement.
